My Drunken Vegas Time Share Story

This week was one of the first “down” (i.e. not completely insane) weeks I’ve had in a long time.

I didn’t have any Membership launch to prepare for or an event I was coordinating or training I was traveling for.

I did have a lot of work to do to follow up from last week’s event though.

Much of the follow up revolved around cutting up the video content so whoever missed it could review it and whoever did attend could revisit it since there was so much valuable content throughout the day.

During the event, I wasn’t paying too much attention to the content we were creating since I was doing my best to stay in the moment and make sure everything ran smoothly.

After watching and editing the videos from each section of the day, I was blown away by the amount of valuable content and insightful discussion.

If you put them all together, it’s like a Master Class or your Sales MBA.

Even if you attended the majority of the live stream, the one section that was not streamed was the debrief we had after all going to see Glengarry Glenn Ross.

That conversation was a testament to what happens when you bring a diverse group of people with shared values together. It was magic.

During that conversation, we went off-topic a few times, specifically when someone asked how we all are at buying versus selling.

Most of us agree that we’re all pretty much pushovers when it comes to buying something.

This is when I was reminded of the story of my wife and I going to Vegas for one of those timeshare pitches thinking we were going to make a mockery out of it and use them for the free trip but ended up getting absolutely worked by their sales process.

I’ve written about the story before but this is the first time I was caught on film so I thought it would be fun to share it with you here.

This is where I learned about the “preemptive strike” objection handling technique and so much more.
